AETHER VOID

In a world were there are so many bands to keep track of I want to bring my two cents in presenting you to this interview wit AETHER VOID. Anders Ekdahl ©2019

Let’s start with your latest recording. When you look back at it now what kind of feelings do you have for it?
-Hi Battle Helm! Thank you very much for this interview. We are proud of our album. We started recording the album in summer 2018 and it represents the achivement of our objectives. We are very pleased with this work.

I am fascinated by band names. What was it that made you settle on the one you have and what does it mean to you?
-The name “Aether Void” was proposed by our frontman Thore at the beginning of our story. This name is the metaphor of the confusion and loneliness that everyone feel in their own life. It’s the union of something extremely positive in the ancient philosophy (Aether) and something else extremely negative (the Void).

What does it mean to you that there are people out there that actually appreciate and look forward to what you are doing?
-It’s a great pleasure for us! Today it’s very difficult to be appreciated by someone so when it happens, it give us the strenght to continue our music.

How important is image to the band? What impression do you want the fans to get of the band?
-We live in a superficial world so the image is one of the most important things for a band, expecially in a live situation where the fans want letterally to see a show and they want to be impressed by special effects.

I am a huge fan of LP art work. How important is it to have the right art work for your album?
-We think the art work is one of the most important things for a good album. It must represent the music and the message the band wants to instill to the listeners and also it must attract the audience.

We live in a superficial world today where you don’t exist if you are not on Youtube and Facebook. Has social media been only beneficial in socializing with the fans or is there a down side to it too?
-In our opinion the social media are extremely usefull because allow us to share our music, video and every kind of news with people around the world. We think that the dark side of the social media is that it’s not meritocratic in fact they are an unreal world.

When you play in a band does it feel like you are a part of a massive community? That you belong to something that gives meaning to your life?
-Being part of a band it’s like be a part of a family. We share the same passion, purpose, defeats and we run for the same goals.

When you are in the middle of it do you notice what state our beloved music scene is in? Is the scene healthy or does it suffer from some ailment?
-In the latest year the metal scene isn’t in excellent health. We think that there’s too much strife between metal fans. We should start supporting every form of Metal and the metal culture in general.

How much of a touring band are you guys? How hard is it to get gigs outside of your borders?
-It’s very difficult for an up-and-coming band to get gigs both Italy and in other countries. Whatever our desire to play live is always strong!

What will the future bring?
-Now we are focused on the promotion of our album. We will release 3 other music video in the next few months but first of all our aim is to play live in many different country and meet as much fans as possible.
