In a world were there are so many bands to keep track of I want to bring my two cents in presenting you to this interview with ARS ONIRICA. Anders Ekdahl ©2019
I am a word buff so when I find a band name that excites me I want to know the reason behind the choice. So how did you pick your name?
– The name means “art of dreams”. The creators of the name were the original drummer and guitar player, Alessio and Luca; probably they were just trying to find the right moniker to describe the sound of the band.
There are so many genres and sub-genres today that it is hard to keep track of them all. So what was it that made you pick the style you play?
-I love the melancholic music, especially on its extreme forms, it was just natural to express myself this way.
What influences you in creating your music? What is/has been the single greatest influence?
-My greatest influence is what is around me and my life, music helps me to codify reality.
How important is it to have a message as a band?
-It’s very important but the most important thing is that this message must be sincere.
Is image an important factor to the bands appearance?
-Sure, but first of all you have to be sincere and truly believe in what you are doing.
How important is it to have an album cover that stands out to grab people’s attention in this day and age?
-It’s important but most important is that the cover really represents the music that the album contains.
What kind of respect do you get from your local scene?
– I don’t know, probably you have to do this question to my local scene. I know many people that know what I’m doing but I don’t ask them what they think about it when we meet.
How massive is it to get response from places you have never heard of?
– I had a great response from South America and Egypt, my music has never arrived in places like these before, the power of web mixed with the good job of my label, Solitude Productions/BadMoodMan Music, and Grand Sounds Promotion.
Is playing live still a great way to get new fans to discover you?
-Sure it’s the most funny way
