I don’t know when I last heard a band from Venezuela but hey I welcome BLEEDING TEARS into our metal family. That’s the fun of doing this. ©2015 Anders Ekdahl

Could you please introduce the band to us?
-Hello we are Bleeding Tears, a gothic metal Band from Valencia – Venezuela influenced by Bands like Tristania, Sirenia, Draconian, The Sins of thy Beloved, Cradle of Filth, Epica and other, actually the Band is integrated by Vanessa Murillo (Mezzo Soprano), Carla Valsangiacomo (Soprano), Darwin Gil (Extreme voices), Jaime Murillo (Bass), Sergio Rivas (Guitars) and Alejandro Pinto (Keyboards), for live and record drums we have a special guest.

When you form how easy is it to pick up a thread as to where your sound is going?
-When the Band was formed each one of us had a music genre in common and it is the Gothic Metal music where we can transmit our feelings on every note that we play and we identify.

How do you explain the meaning of the band name?
-The blood, the fluid that makes us live and the tears, a feeling expression a result of excessive sorrow, Bleeding Tears is the discharge of whatever is in the heart, tears flow out, all the heavy burdens within suddenly become light.

How important is image to the band? What impression do you want the fans to get of the band?
-The image is so important due that is the first impression that the people see from the Band if you are in a live show or it is a promotional photo. The image must be connected to the music that the Band plays. People must know that there are lot of Bands around the world that are still underground but that are as great as the famous one, simply search on Youtube, soundcloud for new Bands and there are thousands people should hear beyond that the list of Bands that are on the radio streaming, MTV, and those payola.

I am a huge fan of LP art work. How important is it to have the right art work for your album?
-The Artwork is as important as the image of the Band, when you go to a record store and you take a cd of a Band that you have never listened, the Artwork will talk about that Band, it should represent the music contained in that LP, if you have the wrong artwork people that don’t know about you will misunderstand the Band. In the recording process the artwork is very important for us, that is why we have worked with special artist for this like Gustavo Sazes (Arch Enemy, Sirenia, Kamelot, Old Man’s Child) and Rafael Mattey (Gillman, Maskhera, Haboryn) and the Lord of the logos Christophe Szpajdel.

How do you avoid being affected by the hype likes on youtube and facebook can create on social media?
-Social Media is the best option to make marketing of your music, is the best option to stay in touch with fans and reach people that have never listen you.

When you play in a metal band does it feel like you are a part of massive community?
-Yes it does, .as musicians it is more than a passion!

How important is it to be signed to label today? What can they do that you cannot so on your own?
-Mmm labels, nowadays people prefer streaming and buy digital albums so they can use it in the phones, ipods, pen drives, whatever. Labels will be just interested in the money just professional labels could offer a better options to the Bands like a tour and media marketing, but money talks.

How much of a touring band are you guys? How hard is it to get gigs outside of your borders?
-Actually we are not a touring due that we are recording, but we are ready and available for any gig, festival if someone is interested to book the Band.

What will the future bring?
-Keep recording new songs and distribute it worldwide so that we can reach borders that we have never been, start booking international shows to promote our music out of Venezuela and maybe in a feature move the Band to Europe.
