CELTEFOG

I often find new bands looking for other things. By searching for one band I might find ten other bands. It was that way I found CELTEFOG. Anders Ekdahl ©2017

Do you feel that is has gone the way you intended when you formed back in the days?
-Celtefog has been formed because of my need to bring out my inner love about winter and nature along with the real hatred about the human race! In the sort time of the existence of Celtefog i think that everything is going as i want it!

How do you feel about your latest recording? Did it come out the way you expected it to?
-With our latest E.P (A Faded Wisdom) i feel that a cycle has been closed! Its time for a new era of Celtefog. Ofcourse i am 100% satisfied about this release. I hope the people out there will be satisfied too!

Do you feel that you by now has found a sound that is the band and that you can build on it?
-Celtefog has always their personal sound. This is what i wanted from the beggining and i managed to keep a personal sound in my compositions!

Is having a message in the lyrics important to you? What kind of topics do you deal with?
-My lyrics are personal moments. I am writting about the winter and the nature under my view and i am talking with hatred against the human race. No secret messages of course.

How important is the cover art work for you? Can a really cool cover still sell an album in this day and age of digital download?
-The artwork is a different part in the discography. For me the most important part in the discography is the music itself. If the music is good you can sell it no matter what is the cover.

Why is it so hard for bands that come from places not the US or UK/Sweden/Scandinavia to break big? What is success to you and is it something you’d like to achieve?
– I don’t think that its too hard to do great things if you are coming from any other place. There are so many examples. Rotting Christ, Arkona, Orphaned Land, Samael and many more! About success… Well when i formed Celtefog it was only for my needs to compose music. I know some people who they like my music and for me this is the biggest success! I feel complete!

Today the competition is harder. You got plenty of digital platforms for new talent to display their music. How do you do to really stand out in a world where everything but the music is blind to the listener?
-There is no competition for Celtefog. Its not a sport! We are playing our music, and day after day there are more people who learn about us. You need to work hard if you want to be more known to the people. You have to be patient and of course you have to compose good music and the listeners will find you!

What is your local scene like? How important is a national scene for a band to be able to break out and make it international?
-I never care about a national scene. I think that METAL is a nation itself. I hate when there are people who categorising the bands, by the nation they comes… If the band is good i will listen it. No matter from where it comes. ‘

Rock and metal has come a long way since the early 70s but still some people’s attitudes towards it seem to be left in the stone age. How accepted is metal in your area? Is it like in Finland where it seems to come with the mother’s milk?
-In my area the most people are following a subculture of the trash of the fucking television. In my opinion, Metal is a rebel music and i am glad who even now there are people who dont accept it. Metal is not for the masses. 1

What does the future hold for you?
-I dont know. I hope a third album and a live show… ARCHON CELT
