In a world were there are so many bands to keep track of I want to bring my two cents in presenting you to this interview with EDEN. Anders Ekdahl ©2019
You have one of these names that do not really tell what kind of metal you play. How hard was it to come up with the name?
-Hi, our name? OK, it was something sought after. We wanted a short name and universal in all languages. Something different in heavy music.
How do you introduce the band to people that are new to your music?
-Looking for musicians with the same musical ideas. And also big friends.
We all carry baggage with us that affects us in one way or another but what would you say have been the single greatest influence on your sound?
-The greatest influence on our sound? Any music that transmits something good. From the Hard rock, until the Transmetal.
What is the scene like in your area? Is it important that there is some sort of local scene for a band to develop or can a band still exist in a vacuum of no scene/no bands?
-It is always important that the music scene be very good.
The scene in my area is very good. The best Metal bands in Spain are here, Warcry and Avalanch, and there are other very good ones.
Something I have often wondered about is if you feel that you are part of something bigger and greater when you play in a band, that you are part of a movement sort of?
-When I’m playing, I feel like I’m part of the big movement.
When you play the sort of music you play I guess you cannot have birds and bees on the cover of your album? What is a great album cover to you?
– It is a cover that transmits the essence of the group.
What is your opinion on digital verses physical? Is digital killing music?
-It is the new era. We can not fight against it. It is the beginning and end of the disc.
What kind live scene is there for bands like yours?
-It’s good, there are many feativals. And radios and magazines that talk about it. It’s a good moment.
When you play live is it a happening or do you see it more as a party?
-It’s a rock party. Something only…
What would you like to see the future bring?
-The future will be what people want. We believe it will be very good … Yeah.
