Some bands let the music do all the talking. Listening to GOAT WAR you don’t really need much words to understand where they are coming from. Anders Ekdahl ©2017

You have one of these names that do not really tell what kind of metal you play. How hard was it to come up with the name?
Dick-When I watched the goat die I called up Julius and said “Goat War brother” and he said “yeah?”!

When somebody new to the band discovers you what is it that you want them to get from listening to the band?
Julius – PTSD.

We all carry baggage with us that affects us in one way or another but what would you say have been the single greatest influence on your sound?

What is the scene like in your area? Is it important that there is some sort of local scene for a band to develop or can a band still exist in a vacuum of no scene/no bands?
Julius – Goat War lives in Hell surounded by nothing but pain and torture, our blitzkreig is the product of pure ritual torment.

Something I have often wondered about is if you feel that you are part of something bigger and greater when you play in a band, that you are part of a movement sort of?
Dick-My uncle Dale Nekrowulf once said to me, “You know nephew a tire is just a tire but a semi ain’t a semi without 18 tires, and without a semi the cartel ain’t getting paid brother!”!
Julius – I think what D. Nekrowulf is getting at is that a band is like a semi? And the members are the tires? What? The cartel is the music scene…?
Dick-Cocaine is music brother!

When you play the sort of music you play I guess you cannot have birds and bees on the cover of your album? What is a great album cover to you?
Dick-Def Leppard – On Through the Night cause it reminds me of the first time i took a stripper back and gave her my steel!
Julius – For me nothing says black heavy metal like violence and onslaught. My favorite cover would have to be Dungeon Magazine Issue #08.
Laamp- I like Midnight’s cover of In League With Satan
Shockmaster-Mercyful Fate 1982 EP “Nuns Have No Fun”

What is your opinion on digital verses physical? Is digital killing music?
Julius – Music deserves a quick death. We don’t play music, we play black heavy metal.

What kind live scene is there for bands like yours?
Dick-There is no band like Goat War! Goat Ware is alone in its lust for carnage!

When you play live is it a happening or do you see it more as a party?
Julius – It is a scarifice, a whirlwind into the realm of chaos.

What would you like to see the future bring
Dick-Preferably death! War knows no borders!
