HEXED have finally released their debut album. Answers byTina Anders Ekdahl ©2018

What kind of vision did you have when you started and how has it changed over the years?
-The vision of Hexed has always been that this have the same priority as any other work that keeps us busy. And still it is to get out and do live gigs and keep writing more music. We always aim to have a fun ride and a hope to experience a lot together.

Does location mean anything today? We used to hear about how it was all location, location, location back in the days if you wanted to make it big? That you had to come from a certain place to be sure to make it.
-I guess it is not that important nowadays, the most important things is to work hard, make contacts, work for your ideas and dreams to come true. And a strike of luck is good to have among all the other great bands that are working hard to make it big.

What is it like to be a in a band and to get to tour all over the world? What kind of feelings do that bring about?
-We haven’t been on a world tour yet. One of the goals we have is to go on tour soon. This is what we do and work for all the time. The feeling it brings when we are together is like nothing else, having my friends with me on adventures and stuff is really nice. It creates strong bounds.

What kind of feedback have you had on your music, your latest album and in general? How important is feedback?
-The feedback on Netherworld has been really good and it is very important with opinions as it will describe our music for people who never heard of us before. And with that said, don’t just rely on the reviews, always remember that it is someone elses opinion and don’t let it go to your head or let you down.

How do you know that you have written a “hit” song? Is there a particular feeling you get when you know that this is the one, this is the big “make it song”?
-If it hits you while composing it, it usually turns out to be a great song that you never get tired of regardless of how many times you play it. If it’s a hit you will end up singing it on and on, all the time. The feedback you get from people who listened to all of the tracks and that can mention a favourite will also be a guide to a potential hit song.

As I am no musician I will never got to know the difference of analogue and digital. Can you explain the difference to me? what are the pros and cons of analogue V/S digital?
-Digital technique makes it easier and faster to work in the studio. There is nothing right or wrong with the two alternatives. Some people like the analog way and others like the digital way.

What is it like to have people you never met liking your music and singing along to it at gigs?
-That is just a amazing feeling. It is like you immediatly connect with a person and its the best feeling you can get as a musician. As a visitor in concerts I just love to sing along also, it’s that live feeling that keep getting people to attend to concerts.

How important are lyrics to you guys? Do you have any messages that you want to get forward?
-Yes the lyrics are important for us as we like to think it’s somehow a way to get a message out. It’s very much depending on what genre, style and music that one creates. Our message with Netherworld is that there is always a light in the dark and that we dont have to be afraid of being real.

I love a really cool cover but I get the feeling that today with all this digital uploading/downloading people aren’t that concerned about artwork. How do you feel?
-I do not agree on that, art is art. Even if the art is made digital it’s still an artist that gave the artwork time, effort, ideas, feelings and much more. It is another era but not to the worse. People who really have a interest in music and other artforms will never stop caring for it.

What does the future hold?
-We aim for touring and get new listeners. Still some things are not official yet. Be sure to follow us at social media #hexedmetal or www.hexed.se
It holds a bright future for Hexed, I am sure of that.
