HUMANITY DELETE

The more enlightened the human gets, the more stupid she gets. As we get smarter we get closer to our own extinction. But before that happens lend HUMANITY DELETE (another Rogga band) some of your time. Anders Ekdahl ©2016

You have one of these names that does not really tell what kind of metal you play. How hard was it to come up with the name?
-We’ve had the name since I think 2001 or something like that, when the first few demos were made. It wasn’t hard to come up with, and as you say its a name that fits many types of music. Which is a good thing if you ask me. We could play anything we like and still have a name that fits us well enough.

Could you give us a short introduction to the band?
-At first it was just a project, many many years ago. THen we got a deal to do the debut album, and then it was still a project really. But the last album is a group effort, we got a real drummer as well as a killer lead guitarist in the band, so now it all resembles a real band more or less haha.

What would you say have been the single greatest influence on your sound?
-Oh I don’t know really… Perhaps death metal as a genre I would say. THe new album though is more something like a groovy bastard of death metal and really heavy sludgy metal instead. We tried to do something more pulsating and fierce, not only fast or raw. I think we succeeded atelast a bit.

What is the scene like in your area? Do you feel that you are a part of a scene?
-Right here where we live the scene is as always very small, but in Sweden in general its big, and is thriving these days too i would say. Yeah we feel part of it Id say, especially the past decades with internet, you can say that the scene has grown, to be both more local and more international.

Something I have often wondered about is if you feel that you are part of something bigger and greater when you play in a band, that you are part of a movement sort of?
-I dont know really… Not for me perhaps, I do it mostly as I like to write music. But yeah, it feels very cool to hve a scene to belong to, that you know will hoepfully apprecitae your music and a place you know your music will be listened to.

When you play the sort of music you play I guess you cannot have birds and bees on the cover of your album? What is a great album cover to you?
-Haha damn straight! The cover for our new album is excatly the cover you need for this music haha. Its done by legend Joe Petagno, and its just a fucken awesome artwork, I mean just fucken look at it haha. Its got the axes and the carnage and the fucken fingers right in your face. This is the coolest artwork for a metal album in years man!

What is your opinion on digital verses physical? Is digital killing music?
-It’s a bit of both I guess, with the digital you spread it more and easier, but you also get it stolen, people get it for free. And real cds or cassettes or vinyls are always much much more cool and fun to have. Id say its like most stuff in life, its a bit good and a bit bad really.

What kind live scene is there for bands like yours?
-Here its small, in Sweden in general its ok, in Europe overall its really good. I guess that would sum it up really!

When you play live is it a happening or do you see it more as a party?
-We haven’t played live with this particular band, but when we do play in other bands, its more of a ehhh show. I mean, its a party, but you can do the beers too much before haha. Playing live is always cool, for us its something we need to do sometimes, not too often but a few times a year you need to get really into it and do it live too.

What would you like to see the future bring?
-I don’t know really… Maybe some cool splits with other bands, like a few 7 inches. So if any bands are interested, or any labels, they can just drop us a line!
