A week without an Italian band to interview is a bad week. So thankfully I got an Italian band to interview this week. They are called LET THEM. FALL Anders Ekdahl ©2017

How hard was it to come up with a band name and how does the name fit the music?
-Choosing our band name has been not so easy, we spent a lot of time thinking about a solution that would have fit for us.
Let Them Fall is a name related to the kind of music we used to make when we started to play together and regarding the thematics it doesn’t share anything with the songs we’re writing now.

As I am new to your band perhaps a short introduction might be in order?
-Let Them Fall is a metalcore project based in Grosseto (Italy) and active since 2013. Members are Rita D’Aniello (Vocals), Gabriele Catoni (Guitar/Vocals), Mario Spatuzzi(Bass),
Marco Manus(Drums) and Mattia Detti(Guitar).

As I am no musician I have no idea how it works, but how do you make your own music based on what influences you? What parts do you pick?
-When we’re in studio we obviously have some bands that work as a reference for us as far as the riffing style is concerned
but we always try to give to every song our personal touch in order to avoid to sound exactly like those artists.

When you are in a band does it feel lkke you are a part of a worldwide movement?
-Of course! We’re just one of the many active bands in the genre and we feel like we’re all connected through music.
The best part of playing shows in other cities and countries is meeting people and sharing with them the same stage and the same passion.

How important is it that you look the part in promo shots and stuff? How important is the graphic side of the band?
-It’s definitely one of the most important parts, we usually work a lot on our Facebook/Instagram trying to reach
more fans and giving to them new contents everyday. It may be a common thing to say but, in 2017 social networks are the key to promote everyone’s music at its best.

What would you say influences your lyrics? How important are they?
-Lyrics play an important role in our project and are influenced in many ways by mythology. Regarding the subjects of our songs we use to write lyrics that could hopefully help
people to overcome difficulties and improve themselves as human beings.

Is the album as relevant today as it was in the 70s and 80s? Is digital killing the album? Where will the future of format end – digital verses physical verses whatever?
-Writing an LP in 2017 has become less relevant for an underground band, often we see a lot of projects gaining visibility with just a single or an EP. It’s true that digital
market is becoming more and more prevalent nowadays but there’s still room for physical releases in music industry.

How much of a touring entity are you guys? What is a live experience with you like?
-We’re a band that aims to constantly play live and we usually do a lot of shows here in Italy. During the years we even made a couple of tours hitting foreign countries like
Slovakia, Czech Republic and Serbia.

What lies in the future?
-More things that you could ever imagine! We’re currently working on new songs and we’re beyond satisfied of what we’ve created so far. Just keep an eye on our Facebook and
we’ll reveal everything soon!
