LOGICAL TERROR

Can terror be logical? I don’t think so but then LOGICAL TERROR might be the solution to the problem. They are here to terrorize our ears with their music. Enjoy. Anders Ekdahl ©2016

Every band has to introduce their music to new people. What is it that you want people to get from listening to you guys?
-Tons of good songs, arrangements and orchestral melodies. Maybe we know that our music is quite hard for old school crowd, but we still do what we like, not afraid of preconceptions. Music is our main brand; A lot of energy, and different solutions must not be taken for granted while listening to LT. People should try to dive into our world with closed eyes, and floating into music, but take care to not stop ’till the end.

How hard was it for you guys to pick a name? What had that name have to have to fit your music?
-Basically we thought about which kind of reaction should have a listener in front of our artworks and music. Both albums “Almost Human”, and “Ashes Of Fate” are based on different vision of worlds; A dangerous future not so far, and the world we are missing to live.
In our life, terror has become not a fear, but a necessary “evil” hidden by different masks, we try to fight, but result it’s just a logical negative consequence: We still repeat the same mistakes from the beginning of what they call “The brand new world”.

Everybody is influenced by certain things. What band(s) was it that turned you on to the kind of music you play? What inspires you today?
-All band members have different influences, from death metal to modern prog scene, but for sure we have to thanks big acts as Pantera, Fear Factory, SYL and Meshuggah, they definitely introduced us on the right way ahah. What to say about nowadays…It’s quite hard to find out new inspirations cause we can say that music market has come to an overflow status, so we just take care of ourself, writing modern music we like, evolving something step by step.

When you formed did you do so with the intent of knowing what to play or did you do so from the point of having a band name and then picking a sound? How did you settle on the name/sound combo?
-In the beginning our intent was to create a modern and original sound, catchy and unusual, without limits.
Basic idea was to define the perfect synthesis of the all band influences; Actually our first album “Almost Human” is a chaotic and magnificent mix of ideas and colors, and “Ashes Of Fate” the claimed step forward.

I believe that digital is killing the album format. People’s changing habit of how they listen to music will result in there being no albums. Is there anything good with releasing single tracks only?
-When you decide to be part of the music market, today you have to accept all the rules, all bad sides and not, because the digital era. People can fastly listen, download free music, videos, every kind of stuff from all the bands, it means lost money but free publicity. So selling in a record store, or on-line shops, it’s just a part of a solid promotional plan, for us it’s a big pleasure to see physical albums sells instead digital ones, but sure the new generation is killing that market. Single tracks release it’s a fast way to reach people and build a web presence, but if you are looking for a label support it’s not enough. By the way part of fans still love have cd format in their hands, especially foreign followers they maybe won’t have a chance to see a show of a band, and grab the album live.

What part does art-work and lay-out play when you release new recordings? How do you best catch people’s attention?
-Well graphic design it’s for sure part of our package, as music, so important cause since first release “Almost Human”, and the recent “Ashes Of Fate”, cover artwork has been a concrete portrayal of lyrics as concept album. Especially for “AOF” we worked with the great visionary artist Luminokaya, already known for collaboration with Meshuggah, and can say that he’s a real pro and impressive talent. We worked on a main idea from our mind, and Keerych fastly understood the best way to give a dark-gothic touch, terror vision, and his personal mood, simply wonderful result.

Has social media re-written the rules on how to promote your music? Or do you go about doing promotion the same way?
-Yes you’re right, I think now everyone can have a fast and free access to audio music, or video stuff taken from a lot of socials, so you can’t not be there, it means lose more than half % of music market today. So every band need to know new rules, new way of communication, and how to build and grow your fans-base. Every time some big change happens, you must follow it, or you miss a lot of attention in you.

When you play in a band, does that make you feel like you are a part of a scene, of something bigger and grander?
-It’s like to be a water drop in the ocean, music scene is an endless space, every day bigger, cause new bands start, more music on-air, but the best way to enjoy it, just do your best, and think about your goals. Not a big challenge because nothing for sure, if satisfied of yourself and the work done, all success and goals reached will be the best award for you.

How much of a touring band are you? Is touring/gigging still a great way of spreading the word of the band?
-Be on the road a lot it’s a good way by spreading music and your name, and it’s important too because you have a lot of stuff to share on socials, so your activity constantly run. About us, we hope to increase our tour plan supporting the new record, working on it right now, some shows in Italy will be announced soon, and first stops in EU to be confirmed next.

What will the future bring?
-Who knows ahah, we hope to deal with something cool by supporting our last release, and maybe more experiences like main acts support or big open-air, we would like to test our live show for a good crowd, meet new people, and not think about what will become or not. Let’s do it!
