NIGHTGLOW

With so many cool bands out there to check out I offer you some minor guidance by introducing you to NIGHTGLOW. Answers by Daniele Abate – Lead Vocals. Anders Ekdahl ©2019

What pressure is there in releasing an album compared to a demo? Do you feel that there is a sort of pressure to succeed when you release and album, that it sorta is for real now?
-I think that when you release something new there’s must be “pressure”! It’s part of the game and it keeps your attention always at high levels which is very good! When there’s no pressure, no adrenaline in that, you’re done, it’s just a “job”.

When you release a record of any sort what kind of expectations do you have on it? Do you set up goals for it?
-There’s not a goal for us, only a hope that the largest number of people can listen and enjoy our music.

When you release an album and you go out and play live and people know your songs, how weird is that? That people know what you have written on your own?
-I think that “weird” is not the right word… Probably fuckin’ amazing describes better the feeling!

Do you feel that you have to follow in the footsteps of the last album for a new when it comes to lyrics and art work for everything so that those that bought the previous record will recognize your sound?
-No. We write and play whatever we want, we don’t care. It’s a passion, we must enjoy what we do and this depends on the mood of the period. We love to change!

Do you feel like you are a part of a greater community because you play in a band?
-That’s for sure! But not only because we are a band, the magic word is MUSIC. The best thing to be a band is the band itself, the people you have with you!

How hard/easy is it to come up with new songs that that still are you but doesn’t sound like anything you’ve already written?
-It depends on the time, sometime you can write a thousand of songs and sometime the only thing you can do is whistling the fuckin’ Big Bang Theory soundtrack! LOL

What influences/inspires you today? Where do you draw inspiration from? Is it important to have some sort of message?
-We are not focused on a certain topic or message. For me, for example, I write the lyric only after listening the music… The insipiration comes from there. About the music in general, we listen many many kind of music and this is another reason why we don’t care about keeping always the same genre.

We hear about what state the record industry is in. Then we hear that cd sales are increasing. As a band that releases records do you notice the state the industry is in?
-Not us, unfortunately we can’t play for business, only for passion and this kind of topic doesn’t touch us. Personally I’m happy about the cd sales increasing because I’m a collector.

What is your opinion on digital verses physical?
-As I said, we love to collect physical cd’s but we think also that spreading the digital music is the fastest way to let the people know about your music. So, 50\50!

What lies in the future?
-For sure more music, maybe another couple of albums… maybe one blues and one country!!!! LOL
