If had come down to just the image I wouldn’t have given PROLL GUNS the light of the dfay but musically these guys are actually really good. Anders Ekdahl © 2016
How hard was it to come up with a band name and how does the name fit the music?
-One evening we split our old band and create a new band. With much alcohol the band name comes fast around. We wanted to play a dirty desert sound in outlawed western style. PROLL GUNS was born.
As I am new to your band perhaps a short introduction might be in order?
-Western Metal with banjo parts in Rock N*Roll style!!
As I am no musician I have no idea how it works, but how do you make your own.
-We mostly start with a riff or a vocals melody with text. After that we add drums and riffs, step by step. In the end there come a banjo in some parts. Not to much, only a breeze for the western style!!
When you are in a band does it feel like you are a part of a worldwide movement?
-„Live on stage“ is our religion!! We live for this!!
How important is it that you look the part in promo shots and stuff? How important is the graphic side of the band?
-It´s a very important thing for us, because everything should be a little bit of dirty PROLL and a little bit of ugly GUNS. Southern Lifestyle decorated with beauty saloongirls. Outlawed Southern Texas Style as far as the eye!!
What would you say influences your lyrics? How important are they?
-Our songs are about wild western stories, backstagebabies, death and alcohol!! no content, only fun and party! Our songs are not serious but real metal!
Is the album as relevant today as it was in the 70s and 80s? Is digital killing the album?
-Of course is digital killing the album but not killing the music! I think it got better to bring the music around the world with downloads or streaming in the web. If your band is a no name band in Austria without major deal you also can catch fans in Australia. It´s a good thing for small little bands. The best music will push through!! For a band like us it´s a good modern way !! I personally prefer cd and vinyl, but the fans are different. And so we appreciate all these possibilities.
Where will the future of format end – digital verses physical verses whatever?
We think that the future is winning by the one and only medium
How much of a touring entity are you guys? What is a live experiencevwith you like?
-Live we can transform any stage in a western saloon with awesome Saloongirls, Rock N`Western Roll and a Horse Power Voice with fucking banjo sounds. This music fucked up every party!!
What lies in the future?
A new album in 2017, HARDSUMMER Festival 2016 in Bavaria and some good old stoaked whiskey in the next days!! Thank you and yeee-HAAW!
