In a world were there are so many bands to keep track of I want to bring my two cents in presenting you to this interview with REBIRTH IN FLAMES. Anders Ekdahl ©2019
name of a band says more than a thousand words, does not it? How important is a band for people who are interested in your music?
R. That is decided by the fans, the opinion is fanatical, we can not be self-critical, they make an important band.
When you finish a recording and then you sit down and relax, what kind of feelings do you have? Are you happy that it’s over? Does anxiety grow, not knowing if everyone will like it?
R. It’s a bit of everything, we feel very good, anxious that everything is recorded for the final result.
What is it like to be in a studio recording your music? What kind of feelings and thoughts go through your head?
R. Anxiety, wanting to hear the final result of the album.
Today I have the feeling that the promotion of a band is largely based on the bands themselves, so how is one promoted in the best possible way to reach as many as possible?>
R. Bombarding, to put it in some way, sending and promoting with much propaganda to the band, videos of essays, promotions, which I think is the best.
Today we have all the different subgenres in metal. How important is it that you can be labeled in one of these? Why is not metal enough as a label?
A. We play extreme, violent, chaotic metal, people decide where to pigeonhole us, putting us a reference to identify it musically, in this case we are a chaotic Black Metal band!
How important is it to be part of the local / national / international scene? Does playing in a band make you feel like you are part of something bigger? I know you let me know that, somehow, you’re part of the Swedish death metal scene in the 90s.
A. We are important, in this case in the Chilean scene, we are proud of this.
Since I started with metal, the work of art has been a great motivator in the purchase of a nightclub. What role does art play for album covers in the band’s world?
R. The covers are the reflection of each album, it is the reflection of the band, it is the total destruction!
How important is it to have a label to back it up today when you can launch your music on any online platform? Are there negative consequences for aesthetic music for fans now that each Tom, John and Harry can upload their stuff?
R. For Rebirth in Flames the physical (CD, vinyl, cassettes) is very important, it is the real thing of a creation, the rest does not exist!
How is a concert with you? What kind of shows do you prefer to play?
A. Every concert we do, we try to be chaotic, devastating, there is no other!
What lies in the future?
R. Not understanding the question. ….. Thanks for the interest in Rebirth in Flames Regards !!!
