France has given me many a great metal moment. And SILVER WIND are no exception. Answers by Benoit. Anders Ekdahl ©2017

We live in a world where there are literally millions of bands to check out. What do you have that sets you apart?
-Yes, there a lot of band, our difference with the other come with the diversity of our song, in the album you can listen faster, mid tempo or rock n roll song, we also like to include break, like the celtic one in legend of the exiled, all of that with a heavy sound.

How hard was it for you guys to pick a name? What had that name have to have to fit your music?
-We think the name of the band will be reflect his music, i think your will be disappointed if you listen silverwind and hear rap music…

What band(s) was it that turned you on to the kind of music you play? What inspires you today?
-All the band like Running Wild, Judas Priest, Manowar… we just like to mix all and create powerfull heavy music with melodic singing. Today there are many many very good band, for example i like to listen Ambush, Iron Spell, RAM…. all this band have an influence for us today, not very original i know but with good heavy metal feeling.

What is the advantages/disadvantages of CD and vinyl these days of internet promotion where digital seems to be king?
-Yes now digital are very present, but im shure the physical always stay alive. I think they are not advantages/disavantages with that, just found the good combination. With digital you can share your music all over the world in 5 sec and the next day you have many message from fans who want to buy your cd, i think it’s cool…

I use Spotify and Deezer but only as compliment to buying CDS (it’s easier to just have your phone or pad when your out) but I fear that soon music as we know it will be dead and buried. What are your worries as a band?
-Like i tell you, i don’t think the physical material are dead, i think there will be always this need to have physical items, this is in the human nature to possess, for some it’s cars, for other books, and for metalheads cd and vinyl, for example me last week, i can’t resist to buy a tape of Delirium Tremens, i don’t know this band but the cover of the album (read my fist) is so cool…..

What part does art work and lay out play? Any message that you want to bring forth with it?
-Artwork are very important, they will be have a coalision between the music and the cover.

Is it a whole different way to promote a band today with all these social media channels? Or do you go about doing promotion the same way? Playing live and word of mouth.
-We use all of that, in this moment the promotion with social media channels are very important but the concerts and word of mouth still the best promote way.

Do you feel like you are a part of a scene, locally, nationally and internationally?
For now we do part of the national French scene, this year we had play with some very good French bands like Tentation, Hurlement, Hexecutor, Lonewolf….. in France we have a very good underground scene with passionate people who organize very good fest like Pyrénean Warriors fest, Rising fest….. It’s a big family…..

How much of a touring band are you? Is touring/gigging still a great way of spreading the word of the band?
-Yes the concert are the best way to promote a band, we actually see for a little French tour in January, we would like to play in Europe too, Italia, Spain and specially Germany are countries we wanted to share our music.

What will the future bring?
-Promote the album, concerts, we hope play in fest next summer and we beguin to work for new songs for the next album.
