STORMVOLD might have a name that suggests that they are Norwegian and while that might not be too far from the truth they hail from more southern regions of Europe. ©2015 Anders Ekdahl

Could you please introduce us to the band?
-Hails, here Ebola, for sure, StormVold is a project of Death/Black Metal in old school way. Is created as a tribute to “Molested(rip)” from Norway but creating a more bestial & hateful.
In 2012, records “First Tibicena Brutality” limited to 66 autofinancied pro cdrs.
In 2013, records “Second Guanche Massacre” limited to 66 autofinancied pro cdrs.
In 2014 was released a compilation of the first two demos entitled “First Storms” by Schattenkult Produktionen(Ger), limited to 300 cassettes.
The band signs with Xtreem Music (Spa) and records a third demo “Third Bestial Mutilation”, recorded in Necromorbus Studio(Swe) and cover art by Erlend Erichsen from Molested(Nor).
In 2016 is coming debut album…

What has been the greatest catalyst in forming your sound?
-Yeah, principally the mythic band Molested from Scandinavia. Also bands such Grotesque, Corpse Molestation, Sarcofago, Bestial Warlust, Morbid, Necrovore, Treblinka, Darkified and a long etc.
Themes like the supernatural, the force of nature, the human supremacy…

How hard is it to record and release new songs?
-It’s easy and hard at same time, but is a satisfying pleasure. After the composing, first record drums, guitar and last bass. And later I write the lyrics and sing the grotesque then.

How important is a bands name? How did you pick yours?
Yep, is not really important. I think the music/sound is the important. I picked the band name via Molested from Norway, they did a demo called “StormVold”. I love so much that work, and indeed I have the cover tattoed.

If you release your music digitally is there a risk that you release songs too soon, before you are ready compared to releasing them on cd?
-Yes, I think the first releasing is the pressed. Vinyl, tape, cd and later of some weeks the digital release. Less important sell digitally, is not a true buy, I think so…

What kind of responses have you had to your recorded music?
-The average of response was high grade, upper of 8 points. Reviews from many countries and really good impresion. About the compositions, guitars, vocals, sound… This comments gives me more strenght to continue recording.

We live in a world where there are no real distances between people communicating anymore. What has been the most surprising contact so far?
-But for me find fans in all the earth. Writing his support from Japan or Australia for example. And yes, find lost family and friends.

Do you feel like you are a part of a greater conmunity playing in a metal band?
-Maybe not. The Metal as style is personal, each people feel different feelings and they look the Metal as they want, in different ways. Also not exist a community precisely, because the Metal have many other styles inside.

What is the live scene like for you? Do you feel that playing live helps building a bigger following?
-Yes sure, play at gigs is very important to other people can check your band and to know how you play on stage. I want play and play on stage, differents countries/people. That is the best thing, also to receive the master-audio from the studio!

What plans do you have for the future?
-Thanks for the interest in StormVold. Next plan is to record the debut album and have a impressive release. See you in cemetery, regards! For info check:
