TATIANA M might be new to most of you but trust me when I say that you’ll hear from her in the not so distant future. Anders Ekdahl ©2013

Could you please introduce yourself so that we’ll know some more about you?
-I started playing the piano when I was 4 years old-it was my favourite game! My mind was full of beautiful melodies that needed to be expressed by the piano… I started piano studies when I was six years old, and found extremely difficult for me to devote on the notes of the pentagram, because I loved the improvisation!! Most of my life was around the piano for many years…
The vocals came later to my life, i was very shy to sing in front to the audience…

What was it that got you into music in the first place?
-The piano, I loved, since my early years, in our living room and my need to express all the music I have inside me, was the reason to devote my life to music. My parents involved with music, too, so operatic and orchestral music, sounded at my home, all day…

What would you say are your greatest influences today? What kind of musicians do you look up to?
– My music was influenced ,at first, from Mahler, Rachmaninov, Tchaikovsky, Verdi, Dvorak, Bach, Beethoven. Later, I fall in love with soundtrack music- Enio Morricone, Nino Rota, Maurice Jarre, John Barry, Gerry Goldsmith, Andrew Lloyd Webber,Hans Zimmer-,I also love Queen, Beatles, Scorpions, Genesis, Duran Duran, A HA, Muse, Coldplay, Within Temptation, Enya, Adiemus, Loreena Mckennit.

What is it that you want to get out of being involved with music? What kind of hopes and goals do you have?
– I try to find my inner balance when I compose music and, every time, when I sing my music…
I hope that I’ll have the opportunity to give concerts all the world and publish more albums, in the future…

I noticed that you call yourself a singer/songwriter yet I do not associate your music with what I commonly think of as singer/songwriter stuff. Where do you see yourself fit in musically?
– I can’t really fit myself exclusively in one tag. I’m a composer who plays the piano and sings…

Do you feel that you stuff has a crossover potential, that you are able to reach a broader audience than for example a classical hardrock/AOR band would?
– There is potential crossover in my music because I love and I studied many different kind of music.
I wish that I reach a broader audience that enjoy many kind of music.

What kind of reactions have you had to your music so far in Greece?
– In Greece they enjoyed the music I have composed for the theater, for several plays, and now, people start to enjoy my songs, too…

What is the scene like in Greece for the kind of music that you play? How much space is your kind of music allowed in press and radio?
– The scene, is very new and small for the greek musicians, who play that kind of music ,here, but people start to like more and more, every day, that kind of music-the internet helps a lot-.
The space, in press and radio, for my kind of music is still very small,in Greece, but i think ,it ll get bigger, if more greek musicians will dare to get involved with it.

When you record your music how much outside help do you use? How easy is it to find the right kind of people to work with?
– When I record my music, George Tsokanis arranges most of my songs. Bob Katsionis (Firewind) helps me, too. It’s not easy for me, to find the right person to cooperate in harmony-it took me many years-I was very lucky that i met those great musicians.
Christos Zorbas, the sound engineer and co owner of Studio Sierras,is also my valuable advisor, since i started to produce my music.

What can we expect from TATIANA M in the future?
-I intend to look for someone to plan the tour of Tatiana’s NIOVI band, all over Europe. I also would like to co operate with other artists in new productions, in the future…
