THIRD DIM3NSIONis another of these Spanish bands that I’ve recently discovered. Spain seem to be full of these cool bands. Anders Ekdahl 2016

As you might not be that known to most people a short introduction might be in order.
-Third Dim3nsion is a Classic Power Metal band from Spain. Although it was born in 2005 because of Javier “Quentin” (Drums) and Miguel Ángel Monzón (voice), it wasn’t until 2014 that they decided to record their first LP, “Where The Dragon Lies”, which saw the light on December 2014. On 2015 the band recorded their second CD: “Conspiracy Theory”, and close the final formation, formed by:

– Miguel Ángel Monzón: vocals.

– Javier “Quentin” : drums .

– José H: bass and chorus.

– Sergio Vasco: Guitar.

– Jorge Baeza: Guitar

– Elena Alonso: keyboards.

How does your latest recording compare to the previous ones?
-Both are pure classic Power Metal. That’s what we are and what we love to do. But, not only because of the keyboards but the better sound-work made by Miguel Ángel in Monzóns Infinity Studio, we tried to make this second album an evolutioned album, with 13 new songs full of ourselves. Where The Dragon Lies is our cover letter. Conspiracy Theory is a new way to say that we are here and we will stand our ground.

Was it hard for you to come up with a sound you all could agree on?
-Well, we are six different person who have six different music influences. But we think that these influences are what made our music as it is. Sometimes someone cannot like to much a part of a song, but in the end we all think as one, and we love our sound.

How important are the lyrics to you? What kind of topics do you deal with?
-José H. is the artist behind the pen. He is capable of convey what is in the heart of the other five. Series we liked, films, books, personal experience, even story tales are welcome in our songs. In the end it is only another way of tell what is in our live, but in a dressy way.

How important is the cover art work for you? How much do you decide in choosing art work?
-The cover art is the first thing you see in a CD, so it has to be a mirror to what is inside the box. This time we also called Luis Felipe Peredo (Maxetormer) to end the design thought by Javier “Quentin”, who also design the inside art. Of course we work hard on it, so as to get this cover (which we thing is great!)

Where outside of your country have you had success with your previous albums?
-We know that our CDs have arrived to Canada, Norway, Italy, Japan, USA, The Netherlands, Australia, and South America. They are the countries where we sold our CD so good. Also we have followers from almost all the world, so we are very very happy with the acceptance.

Why is it that we do not see more metal bands from your country making it big internationally?
-If we knew this answer we will rich because we will aply it! (laugh) Perhaps it’s because of the human personality. All of us are comfortable in what we know, and sometimes we are affraid of finding new music. Here in Spain is very difficult to made known inside the country. But this don’t browbeat us! We will carry on fighting and playing our music as loud as we could.

What is your local metal scene like? What status does does your band have in the national metal scene?
-Even though we are playing since 2005, this last two years is when Third Dim3nsion is getting known. We think that we are in the middle of the scene, we are not newbies but we also have to learn. However, who has nothing to learn? Power Metal is still alive provided that there are still power metal bands.

What is the general populations opinion on metal? Is being a metal musician a respectable choice?
-Sadly, we are still a minority. But the few who really liked it do support the scene. Being a musician, in general, apart of some pop musicians, isn’t a “real job” in the general population mind.

What does the future hold for you?
-The future allows us to do whatever we want to, as long as we work together and honestly. We don’t close any opportunity and we will fight to continue doing what we love: music.
