TWINS CREW might sound like an American wrestling tag team but I can assure you that it isn’t. Anders Ekdahl ©2016
As I am not at all familiar with your band perhaps you could introduce it?
-Well we are a Power/Heavymetal band from Sweden with 6 bandmembers. Dennis and David as guitar Guru´s , Uno as the pace conductor , Hammar as the base hunter, Nicko as the keeper of keys and Andreas as the voice from the void.
How hard was it for you guys to pick a name? What had that name have to have to fit your music?
-The name came naturally to us since Dennis and David are Twina. It fits our music perfectly.
What band(s) was it that turned you on to the kind of music you play? What inspires you today?
-Oh they are so many… starting with bands like Kiss, Iron Maiden, Helloween, Queen, Judas Priest, Motörhead, the list goes on and on. We find insperation in playing the Metal that we love.
What came first; the band name or the sound? How did you settle on a sound?
-The sound and the band name came about at the same time. We never settle for a spacific sound. We just play the Metal we want to play and as you can hear on the albums it´s everything from Power Metal to Heavy Metal a little something for everyone.
Is digital killing the album format? Is there anything good with releasing single tracks only?
-No we don’t think so. We believe true Metal fans always want a whole album they can grab and put on the stereo on max volume through their speakers. Releasing single tracks as a bonus between albums might be a good idea to give the fans while they wait for the next masterpiece album thats gonna rock their world.
What part does art work and lay out play when you release new recordings? How do you best catch people’s attention
-The artwork has a big roll in getting the attention from the public eyes. For example if you read a Metal website or so and you see an awesome picture of a new album cover of course you check it out right! We would say live gigs either you see it live or through live video on streaming sites.
Has social media re-written the rules on how to promote a cd? Or do you go about doing promotion the same way? Touring, word of mouth, paper ads etc?
-Yes you can say that. Social media is where a lot of people meet these days and share their taste of life and music and more so that platform is great to use to promote an album. But dont underastimate the power of touring, word to mouth or even paper ads.
Do you feel like you are a part of a scene, locally, nationally and internationally?
-Yes we feel like we are a part of the Metal scene both locally, nationally but most of all internationally since the Metal belongs to us and we belong to Metal.
How much of a touring band are you? Is touring/gigging still a great way of spreading the word of the band?
-We consider ourselfs as a touring band we just love to play. Well yes we think it´s one of the best ways to spread the words becouse that´s how Metal should be lived.
What will the future bring?
-More much more of Twins Crew. We will continue to promote Veni Vidi Vici through out the world. We will play it live and embrace the energy to write the next masterpiece in the future.
