WITCHKISS is a band that I just recently learned about but they seemed interesting enough to investigate further. Anders Ekdahl ©2018
Let’s start with your latest recording. When you look back at it now what kind of feelings do you have for it?
Scott – It’s our first album, we learned a lot in the process of writing and recording it. We are very proud of it and very happy with the positive feedback it has received.
I am fascinated by band names. What was it that made you settle on the one you have and what does it mean to you?
Scott – For those that don’t know, Amber and I are married. From the first time we kissed I felt like she cast a spell on me, in a good way of course…. WITCHKISS
What does it mean to you that there are people out there that actually appreciate and look forward to what you are doing?
Scott – It means everything to us! We do this because we look forward to every moment of playing music and to know other people look forward to what we’re doing is incredible!
How important is image to the band? What impression do you want the fans to get of the band?
Scott – As long as we get up on stage and play our songs with heart we are certain that our fans will get the right impression of the band.
I am a huge fan of LP art work. How important is it to have the right art work for your album?
Scott – It is pretty important to us as both Amber and I are artists. Amber did our album art and has also done most of our tshirt designs.
We live in a superficial world today where you don’t exist if you are not on Youtube and Facebook. Has social media been only beneficial in socializing with the fans or is there a down side to it too?
Scott – Social media is a very powerful tool for a bands success. It can be kind of hard to keep up with at times but is a necessity for promotion and networking.
When you play in a band does it feel like you are a part of a massive community? That you belong to something that gives meaning to your life?
Scott – Honestly, that is exactly how we feel!
When you are in the middle of it do you notice what state our beloved music scene is in? Is the scene healthy or does it suffer from some ailment?
Scott – Healthy and going strong! There are new amazing bands popping up all the time!
How much of a touring band are you guys? How hard is it to get gigs outside of your borders?
Scott – We have some US tours currently in the works for Fall and Spring and hope to get over to Europe in the next year or so.
What will the future bring?
Scott – Well, after the fall tour, we are going to take a few months off to write and possibly record the next album.
