WOLFEN RELOADED

I don’t know much about WOLFEN RELOADED but I am willing to learn more. So read this interview with Chris (Vocals) and Tom (Bass). Anders Ekdahl ©2018

What kind of vision did you have when you started and how has it changed over the years?
Chris: First of all thank you for having us !!
Well, when I started my first band it was all about making our own music. Hanging with good friends and creating our own little pieces of music was always the best thing. Fortunately this has not changed over all those years.

Does location mean anything today? We used to hear about how it was all location, location, location back in the days if you wanted to make it big?
Tom: It can be a big advantage to work in a vital music scene. Big cities or areas do provide such a scene way more often. So it`s still about your location.

What is it like to be a in a band and to get to tour all over the world? What kind of feelings do that bring about?
Tom: As long as you´re not Mick Jagger or Sting, touring is not as easy and glamorous as people may think. But seeing other countries and meeting all kinds of (sometimes rather crazy) people is a great thing .

What kind of feedback have you had on your music, your latest album and in general? How important is feedback?
Chris:You know everybody wants to have a postive feedback for what he´s doing. Musicians are no different, of course. It is somehow a confirmation of your work.
So far we got pretty good reactions for the new album “Changing Time” and we hope this will go on.

How do you know that you have written a “hit” song? Is there a particular feeling you get when you know that this is the one, this is the big “make it song”?
Tom: I promise I`ll let you know first when we got that “hit” song . I guess when you got one song that pays all your monthly bills, then you got a real HIT 😉

As I am no musician I will never got to know the difference of analogue and digital. Can you explain the difference to me? what are the pros and cons of analogue V/S digital?
Chris: According to recording process, this is not really our topic. As far as I know some often say that the digital way ,that means the whole recording ,mixing and mastering process of the record is made in the computer, sounds a little different to if it were done in analogue.Lets say not so warm and organic. But this is really more a question for a mixing engineer. We just make music

What is it like to have people you never met liking your music and singing along to it at gigs?
Chris: Yeah that is really an awesome feeling. When you´re music connects to people, when they sing along and react to what I´m doing o stage, wow pure adrenaline.
Tom: I totally agree, this is something money can´t buy.You can feel the energy coming from the audience even in small clubs and that´s amazing.

How important are lyrics to you guys? Do you have any messages that you want to get forward?
Chris: For me as the writer the lyrics are very important because I always try to support the atmosphere of the music the guys ceated. If you read my lyrics you will find some songs with a more metaphoric meaning others with a more specific statement on differtent topics.

I love a really cool cover but I get the feeling that today with all this digital uploading/downloading people aren’t that concerned about artwork. How do you feel?
Tom: I think that even nowadays where physical cd´s sales are declining more and more it is still important to have a great cover because a cd is piece of art where the visual aspect also is relevant. One the one hand it can be an eycatcher on the other hand it can support the whole concept of the album and even on download sites you see at least the frontcover. So for me it makes sense.

Chris: Exactly. We put really a lot of effort on our cover and people reacted very positive to it.

What does the future hold?
Tom: Who knows ? Hopefully more cool gigs !!
Chris: Yes ,and maybe the new album can help us a little bit for this matter.
Thanks a lot for having us on BATTLEHELM WEBZINE !!!!!
