Just two months away from the release of their upcoming album A View, CEILD celebrate the start of their tour with stops in France (and also Belgium and Spain in January) appropriately with their brand new performance video for Falaise, the second single from their very first fully instrumental album, which will be released on January 25th. On this occasion, the track is now available as a free fan-exclusive on Bandcamp (https://ceildband.bandcamp.com/).
Falaise is far more than a taste of what the growing fan base all over the world can expect with the new record. The attendant video also indicates where we are headed performance-wise and what amount of energy unfolds when the guys are not in any way restricted by the rock/pop duties of singing and posing. This motive of unfolding power can be found in a statement by the band about the track that once again reveals how they create their energetic and poetic music:
“Falaise is the French word for cliff, the sloped side of a mountain, in front of which a being might only become aware of himself. With ‘Falaise’, we wanted to bring the feeling to be taken away to an eternal race, along a ridge, where the void raises from each side. Playing ‘Falaise’ on the stage is like transmitting a bewitching force, between jerky rhythm and tormented melody, who testify of the vertigo of the world.”
The release of the video and the tour start mark a new stage of the journey that A View means to the band – also in a metaphorical sense as they describe it as an “instrumental and introspective journey”, “a trip through a universe made of contrasts and paradoxes”, surrounded by an aura of aesthetic and chaos. The live chapter of this experience starts now and will for the moment be continued in France until January, more dates and countries are planned.
Among the bands CEILD will share their stage with are PITBULLS IN THE NURSERY, who are out and about with their extraordinary alchemy of technical expertise, power, atmosphere and groove since 2001. In France, EXOCRINE will join. They are standing their ground as a modern death metal band among the big names in the genre, as they combine atmospheric synths with bizarre timings and demonic growls. The French death metal trio GEOSTYGMA completes this powerful line-up.
