Hotly tipped Cardiff newcomers, HOLDING ABSENCE last week announced their signing to Nuclear Blast’s imprint label SHARPTONE RECORDS (Don Broco, Miss May I, We Came As Romans, Emmure etc.). Today the band announce they’ll be heading out on tour next month as support to We Are The Ocean on their farewell shows.
Frontman Lucas Woodland comments: “We’re absolutely honoured to be heading out with WATO next month and sharing the stage with them for their final ever UK shows. We Are The Ocean are a band we all respected growing up, from their great tunes to their work ethic and later in their careers when they were pushing the musical boundaries and experimenting with their sounds… They’re a glimmering example of a great UK band, and it’s bittersweet to be able to say goodbye to them onstage every night, but we’re going to love every minute of it! Thanks for having us WATO, and thanks for the memories!”
Formed in 2016, the quintet have already played shows with Casey, Greywind, Burning Down Alaska and more, as well as headlined plenty shows of their own. 2017 will see the band up the ante with a touring schedule already set to make them the busiest band in the UK.
As well as touring with We Are The Ocean, the band also head out on the road with Blood Youth & Loathe in April before playing a bunch of festival shows this summer.
