Jo Quail – Reya Pavan

Internationally acclaimed composer and virtuoso cellist Jo Quail who recently picked up the Limelight Award at the Progressive Music Awards earlier this month has shared the video for new track ‘Reya Pavan’. Film by Khaled Lowe and Sam Edwards, Jo comments,

‘It was a pleasure working with Khaled and Sam. We wanted to create a video that reflects not only the dynamic and textural juxtapositions in the music, but also symbolises the creative process behind Reya Pavan itself. In making this video Khaled and Sam created a wonderful blend of visuals and location and yet leave plenty of space for individual imagination and story. I hope you enjoy it!’

New track ‘Reya Pavan’ is featured on the vinyl re-issue of last year’s album ‘Exsolve’. Released on 4th October through Jo’s own label AdderStone Records the double vinyl edition of ‘Exsolve’ has been specially remastered for this format.

‘Exsolve’ was originally recorded with Chris Fielding at Skyhammer Studios (Electric Wizard, Primordial, Witchsorrow) and released in November 2018 leading to coverage from the likes of Metal Hammer, Prog Magazine, Echoes and Dust, Zero Tolerance, Cross Eyed Pianist and Distorted Sound.

Over the past few years Jo Quail has been touring extensively across Europe performing alongside the likes of Boris, Amenra, Caspian, God is an Astronaut, Myrkur, MONO, Årabrot, Battles and Winterfylleth. Festival performances include ArcTanGent, WGT, Dunk!, Tramlines Festival, Handmade Festival, two separate concerts at the invitation of Robert Smith for his curation of the Southbank’s Meltdown Festival and most recently Hellfest. To support the release of this re-issue Jo just completed a tour of the UK with Emma Ruth Rundle but will also be performing at Damnation Festival in Leeds next month, and in London in December as part of the MONO 20th anniversary shows.
