Maraton – Fringe Logic

Described as “shamelessly melodic”, Maraton pushes the boundaries and mixes styles of prog, rock and pop into an utterly mesmerizing sound of their own! The band released their debut album titled “META” earlier this year, and received massive praise from the media, naming it “a masterpiece” (Ekklektik Rock, FR) and “genre-transcending sound” (Aardschok, BE). The album also entered “Top 5 Albums of the Month“ by Eclipsed Mag (DE) and with soon to be over 1 million streams across all platforms, Maraton is Norway’s most streamed prog debut band of 2018/19 and also the only Norwegian act to perform at Roskilde Festival with only 1 single previously released!

To extend the life of their debut “Meta”, two new singles will be released this Fall, and “Fringe Logic” is first one!

The band’s vocalist, Fredrik Bergersen, has commented:“Fringe Logic is about being dishonest to yourself and the people around you, and the increasingly irrational leaps of logic you take in trying to get that dishonesty to make sense. Instead of fixing a problem, you change and re-arrange the world around it in strange ways to make that problem fit it. Sometimes it’s easier to blame anyone and everyone but yourself, instead of facing and owning up to your own weaknesses. The song can be seen as a personal attempt to deal with these types of issues before you lose yourself to a too irrational behaviour.”
