CHASMA “Declarations Of The Grand Artificer”

CHASMA
“Declarations Of The Grand Artificer”
(Moribund)
Monotony doesn’t have to be a bad thing. Even in the most monotonous beautiful music can be created. The repetitive meanderings of Chasma bring about an aura of misery and pain that in the right environment are as beautiful as the sun rising on a summer morning. I like this kind of black metal that is so basic in its simplicity that you cannot do anything but succumb to it. I get a 70s sleazeploitation/sexploitation feel to the music. It’s like French/Italian/Spanish films about sex, sleaze and plain dirt all wrapped up in a simplistic black metal dress. I like the feeling this album creates. It’s like if Can or Goblins had gone and become black metal. Cool. Anders Ekdahl
