I’ve said it before and I’ll keep saying it forever. I am amazed at how many bands there are that I have never ever heard of, much less heard. GUST is another fine example of a band totally unknown to me. But as the adventurous guy that I am I venture into unknown territory. This is to my ears black metal in the vein of the harsher part of the Norwegian scene with a hint of the Swedish one too. It’s like if Darkthrone had suddenly turned into Marduk over night. You get the primitiveness of Darkthrone mixed with the attack of Marduk. Perhaps not the most original approach but still good enough to warrant my interest. I can’t help it but I’m a huge sucker for this kind of black metal. Anders Ekdahl
