Battle Helm Rating

Looking at the photos that comes with this promo you get the impression that it is going to be some really stiff 1800s kinda stuff. There is an overall Appalachian feel to the images of this album. A very religious approach. Not being familiar at all with this artist I don’t know what to expect. That the name of Chelsea Wolfe has been name dropped doesn’t do much for me even though I do have a Wolfe album somewhere. This is heavy in a whole different way than we are used to here at Battle Helm. This is doomy but not in a metal way but more in a Nick Cave way. This is also very gothic and dark. If you are a bit adventurous you are going to like this as much as I do. There is a haunting feeling to this that is a violent as any extreme metal acts you can think of. A really cool album from an artist I am going to check out even more. Anders Ekdahl
