KAOTIK “Starving Death”

“Starving Death”
Canadian thrash has been made immortal by the likes of Slaughter and Razor. Every band that comes after these two will be scrutinized and judged based on the criteria of those two bands, who were each other’s opposites. Not to forget Annihilator. Kaotik might want to follow in the footsteps of the great ones from the past but they sure have some pretty big shoes to fill. Will they manage to do so or will they drown in the massive sea that is thrash metal? Or perhaps this will be more along the lines of death metal that is nothing like Gorguts or Cryptopsy. For some strange reason I came to thin k of Australia’s Angel of Death crossed with Unleashed when I listened to this. Perhaps a bit Morgoth too in sound. Throw in some Asphyx too and I think I get a pretty good idea of where I have Kaotik. All I know for sure is that I like it. There is a groove and drive to this that makes me sit up and fully concentrate my ears on what I hear. Anders Ekdahl
