MORDBRAND “Necropsychotic”

(Deathgasm Records)
Everywhere you look, every way you turn you bump into another Swedish metal release. It’s like the metal world can’t keep spinning if there isn’t at least one new Swedish metal record released every day. I’m not complaining, never have, never will. I say the more Swedish metal releases the better. So when Mordbrand (Arson in translation) come along with a pedigree from God Macabre/Macabre End I sit up and take notice. I remember both bands very well from back in the days. Again I’m taken back to a time when death metal was simpler. This is the death metal that I’m raised on, that’s been with me since the late 80s and probably will be with me ‘til death. It would be so easy to mention all teh great Swedish death metal acts this makes me think of but I choose not to. Instead all I’m going to say is that if you’re tired of melodeath this is the way to go. Old School-ish and raw like it used to be back in the days. Anders Ekdahl
