I gotta say that when the declaration of intent pretty much says that this will revolutionize metal as we know I for one take a couple of steps back. I have nothing against bands trying to be original but claiming to have invented the wheel is a sure way to be laughed at. This might not have anything to do with OLDE. They could very we´ll be the most exciting to have happened this year. There used to be a time when I cared for who performed on what album. These days I care more for the music. OLDE might contain members from other bands. I just don’t care. Musically this is some really cool slow-ish metal with a distinct epic feel to it. A bit Bathory-ish in fact. And since I’m a huge fan of Bathory I swallow anything that slightly resembles that sound with bones and all. This turned out to be so much better than I had expected reading the press release.
