POINT
BLANK
"Execution"
(-)
When you think Finnish metal today you might end up with Nightwish, Turisa,
Korpiklani or Children Of Bodom. But that is not the entire truth. Dig
deeper and you'll find metal that is more primitive and aggressive. Point
Blank will never be accused of following any chart topping Finnish metal
bands. This is primitive, dirty and simply put basal metal akin to a cross
between death and thrash. And having said that I?m inclined to admit that
it made me feel a bit nostalgic. And I don't ever get nostalgic or sentimental.
Point Blank's second demo "Execution" is an improvement on their
first one "Gatling Gun Manifest". This time it feels like they're
more to the point (no pun intended). No attempts at being the new Death,
more like the early 90s Swedish/Finnish death metal that everybody talks
about now (especially with the book Swedish Death Metal being released)
but few actually experienced first hand.
