PREHATE “We Don’t March Alone”

“We Don’t March Alone”
(NoiseHead Records)
Where a band is from is not important. All that matters is how they perform. I usually don’t judge a band by its album title but Prehate’s didn’t drum up too much enthusiasm the first time I saw it. I still don’t know if it’s a good one or not. Musically this is a different story. Death metal with strong touches of thrash, or is it the other way round? Whatever the answer is this is pretty convincing stuff. What at first could have turned out any which way proved to be a positive surprise. You can hear traces of melodeath if you listen closely but mostly this is just plain good old death/thrash metal. File under promising, for future investigation because this turned out much better than expected. Anders Ekdahl
