(Killer Metal)
Another German band with steel in their name. It gives me images of the Ruhr area and all its industries and dreariness. A need for escape through fantasy. A need to make up fantasy stories about crusaders fighting for good against evil. Real working class escapism. This is the kind of metal that I think of when I think of Germany. It might be the greatest cliché but we all carry with us baggage that shapes who we are and what we think. And this is what I think of German metal and RITUAL STEEL. Musically this wasn’t too far off what I had expected. There is that dramatic touch to this that is both epic and sad. Add to it a thrash edge and you get a metal album that will give you a good time. So if you like bands like Doomsword or Battlerage this will be to your liking. Anders Ekdahl
