SEPTEKH “Apollonian Eyes”

SEPTEKH
”Apollonian Eyes”
(Abyss)
To be honest, and though I liked what I heard on their previous record, I wasn’t too hooked on SEPTEKH the first time I heard them. They were alright and not too hard on the ear but I can’t say that they really stood out that much. Hopefully they’ll leave a more lasting impression on me this time around. I’m not a huge fan of EPs and the likes. Too few tracks to really make me think it is worth the money and even though you can put the player on repeat is still doesn’t do it for me. Especially when it is something that is really good. Then I want to hear a full album of songs. Sweden’s SEPTEKH makes me think of old school Swedish bands like A Canorous Quintet or Ablaze My Sorrows in that there is a lot going on in their death metal that might be hard to take in if you have ADHD and can’t sit still for more than a few seconds. You can call this old school if you like. I call it good death metal. Anders Ekdahl
