TENGIL “Shouldhavebeens”

(Prophecy Records)

Battle Helm Rating

I know that I shouldn’t be surprised by all the diversity there is in Swedish music but sometimes I cannot help myself. Like hearing this album by TENGIL. I wonder how you as a collective can come up with something as eclectic as this. This is music that transcends borders. How do you even label it? It is hard enough to appeal to all blackgazers out there yet somber enough to appeal to those looking for the more esoteric. And in all its beauty lies a lurking chaos ready to burst out. It is not that often that music leaves me speechless but this did. And to think that I almost didn’t bother to listen to this. Anders Ekdahl
